Amazing list! How have I not read the Elizabeth Strout?

Thank you, Paige! It's her first novel, so it probably didn't get as much attention than the later ones. I think it's a perfect short novel.

Love the book list! I've long wanted to read so many of these...Monogamy at the top of my list. I love stories about women and I love the way you write about them (including your own novel!) Gorgeous NH pics, too.

Thank you for those kind words, Amy! Let me know what you think of Monogamy! (I have thoughts...) Have you read Tessa Hadley's Late in the Day, by the way? A lot of themes in common with Monogamy.

No, I haven't read that one (not familiar with title)...will see if my library has it!

Hi Sarah! I really enjoyed this newsletter and am so glad you published your list of 10 books on midlife reinvention. You have one of my favorites, Sue Miller's Monogamy, and reminded me of my love of Margaret Drabble from college years and how I need to reread the Radiant Way. I have read all of Elizabeth Strout's books and Amy and Isabelle is beloved among them. I'm a huge Anne Tyler fan, too. But you gave me so many new titles to look into. And of course I had to order your book, since I am working on my own novel about a woman in the midst of a midlife reinvention. The stories we have to tell are important--universal and yet specific in the ways they unfold for every woman, fictional or real.

Thank you, Amy! Sounds like we have similar tastes in novels! (I think The Radiant Way is out of print, sadly.) And thank you for ordering--that means a lot! Sending good writing wishes your way! 💕
